Clive Turton is not easily fazed. Though recent rounds of wind auctions in India have rattled many equipment manufacturers, he remains cheerily optimistic about industry prospects.
As the Asia Pacific president of Vestas, the world's largest wind energy equipment manufacturer, Turton has been watching similar problems in other countries. For him, auctions are part of a structural shift and a sign of maturity in the industry. "The increase in competition is not unique to India," he says. "Countries are moving towards a more transparent system. And the market is responding in terms of technology."
