UK firms to build O&M base for Galloper offshore wind farm

Three UK companies have been selected to construct the operations and maintenance (O&M) base and related infrastructure for the 336-MW Galloper offshore wind farm off the Suffolk coast in the UK.
The companies have received a preferred bidder status in deals worth over GBP 7 million (USD 9.2m/EUR 7.8m), according to a news release on the project’s website. More specifically, Ipswich-based R G Carter will construct the O&M base, Jackson Civil Engineering Group will be in charge of building the access road, while Farrans Construction has been selected to fabricate and install the pontoon at the Harwich International Port.
